Srimathe LakshmiNarayanaabhyam Nama:
Sri Vikhanasa Maha Gurave Nama:
Supreme God Sriman Narayana is the supreme deity of Hinduism and is celebrated as the 'Paramatma' by the Vedas. He is the creator, protector, and destroyer of the multiple universes. He is sustaining this universe and many others just by His 'Sankalpa' - Divine will. He first created Lord Brahma and asked him to create the universe and all beings. After this He said that He would take 'Archa Murti' form and be present in Temples for people to worship Him and get all the worldly benefits like health, wealth, and other prosperities and eventually attain Salvation (Moksha). Brahma and rishis were hesitant in creating the worshiping protocol without flaws. Hence, Sriman Narayana Himself, by deep thinking (khananam), brought forward an 'ourasa putra' of Him and named as Sri Vikhanasa Maharishi. He then taught Vedas and all sastras to Sri Vikhanasa Maharishi and Lord Brahma. He said to Brahma that Sri Vikhanasa Maharishi would be Brahma's Guru as well. Sri Vikhanasa Maharshi prayed to Lord Narayana to bless Him and His followers such that no 'Doshas' will happen when they worship Sriman Narayana. Sri Vikhanasa Maharshi appeared in this divine Bhaaratha punya Bhoomi, in the time of present Sveta Varaha kalpa, and the first Swayambhuva manvantara in Sukla paksha, Sravaana month, Shravana star, Monday in Simha Lagnam at Sri Naimisaaranyam kshetram, presently in Uttar Pradesh. The followers of Sri Vikhanasa Maharshi were many rishis, primary disciples were Sages Atri, Bhrugu, Mareechi, Kashyapa, Vasishta, Pulaha, Pulasthya, Krathu and Angiras.  Sri Vikhanasa Munidnra preached to His four primary sishyas Bhrigu, Mareechi, Kasyapa, and Atri, totally 1 and half crore stanzas namely Granthas as Sri Vaikhanasa Bhagavad Sāstra that defines the ways to install deities in temples and worship them, conduct festivals for the benefits and well being of the entire World. The four disciples condensed those to make it easy for us common people in this Kali Yug to follow, and gave about 4 Lakhs mantras.
Today, the protocol of worship 'Aagama' followed in many temples are as per this Sri Vaikhanasa Bhagavad Sāstra. Primary temples following this sāstra are Sri Venkateswara temple, Tirumala,  Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Tiruvallikeni, Chennai, Sri Kallazhagar Temple, Madurai, Sri Andāl Temple, Srivilliputhur, Sri Opilliappan kovil, Kumbakonam and many more temples across our nation.
